Chapter 6
Although there were some obstacles ahead, Su Mo and Lu Jia considered themselves lucky. They didn't encounter many difficulties afterwards and safely reached the fourth floor.
"Bang!"
Without thinking, Su Mo closed the door of room 417 and faced the monsters running towards her from both sides. Holding onto the long bench, she charged towards the side with fewer monsters.
She swung the bench with all her might, until her face was stained red with blood and the bench, which was already broken down to only two pillars, was also stained red in her hand.
The thick smell of blood made Su Mo feel nauseous, but she had to hold it in.
Finding a gap, she immediately rushed into a room with an open door. She managed to close and lock the door, while outside, the monsters kept pounding on it, making the door look like it was about to collapse, with constant banging sounds.
Su Mo quickly ran towards the balcony and locked the door to the balcony.
Her face felt burning and tearing, but she just frowned, and her face started to hurt badly, along with her brain nerves feeling like they were being ripped apart.
Su Mo felt curious and turned her head, looking at the mirror on the balcony.
Her face...
The reflection on her right cheek was of flesh that was blood-red.
Ugh~, she couldn't hold it and vomited.
As she kept spitting, her eyes turned red, tears streamed down her face, bringing even more painful sensations, like sprinkling chili on a wound.
The burning heat and pain were her only feelings in that moment.
The more pain she felt, the more tears flowed uncontrollably, intensifying the agony, like being trapped in a never-ending cycle.
"Thud~"
"Thud thud~"
The door started to shake violently, and no matter how difficult it was for Su Mo to accept, she had to gather herself.
She needed to stay calm. Over on Lu Jia's side, she hastily closed the door, unable to confirm if it was safe or not.
She looked up, and when her gaze fell upon the marks on her face, she averted her eyes. Her trembling hand spoke of her current state of mind.
She made an effort to calm herself down, thinking that even if the monsters came charging, there was still a door. However, it wouldn't hold for long, and the bathroom wasn't a good hiding place.
She looked around and finally focused her gaze outside the balcony. It was on the fourth floor, and she remembered that the balconies on the first and second floors were enclosed with iron railings.
Looking back at the shaky door, Su Mo decisively opened the balcony door and rushed back into the dormitory.

Although Su Mo's current body was somewhat special, Lu Jia still applied some anti-inflammatory medicine to her wound.
At first, she was worried that the medicine would sting her wound, but obviously, Su Mo had no adverse reaction to Lu Jia's actions.
She simply stared at Lu Jia, her gray eyes following Lu Jia's hand movements.
At first, it was fine. But when Lu Jia had to wrap a bandage around her waist in circles, she fixated on Lu Jia's hand. If Lu Jia turned her hand too much, she would turn her head to the other side and then return it to its original position along with Lu Jia's hand.
Lu Jia put about three layers of bandage on Su Mo, and her eyes kept turning around like that, but she didn't find it boring.
Seeing Su Mo following her movements like that, Lu Jia couldn't help but playfully move her hands. As she moved, Su Mo's eyes indeed started moving faster and faster.
Suddenly, Su Mo's hand stopped moving, but her eyes continued to move until they stopped and she realized that Lu Jia's hand was not there. She had to shift her gaze until she found Lu Jia's hand.
Then, Su Mo looked up at Lu Jia silently, as if asking why her hand was there.
Lu Jia also found it strange. She looked at Su Mo and thought she was cute. She even had some mischievous thoughts about how adorable Su Mo was. At that moment, she really wanted to say, "I'm not telling you."
But she restrained herself. Instead of thinking about cuteness, Lu Jia cared more about the other people in the dorm.
After searching through all the boxes and cupboards for a while, she finally found a cellphone in the Miss's cabinet. As for her own cellphone, it had actually disappeared. She didn't know if it had fallen somewhere last night.
Now she had to make do with using the Miss's cellphone to contact everyone. Fortunately, everyone's numbers were saved on each cellphone.
Following the order, she dialed each number one by one, but there was no answer. She walked closer to the front door and dialed one more time. After what felt like fifty seconds, someone finally picked up, but it was a busy tone.
Seeing the phone hang up again because no one answered, Lu Jia felt a bit worried. She wasn't sure what the situation was like outside, but considering her experiences, the situation outside couldn't be good.
Though she couldn't connect with anyone, she still sent a message to everyone using one of the phones. The rest were all turned off to save battery, after all.
I am Lu Jia, in the school dormitory. If you see this message, please contact this number quickly.
She looked at the message again, but it still didn't show who sent it. She had to put her phone on silent and placed it near the door where the signal seemed to be better.
Putting down her phone, Lu Jia turned her back to the dormitory door and glanced around the room until her gaze fell in front of her.
In front of her, there were some things that had a strong smell of blood left from the fight between the two zombies and Su Mo. They were quite noticeable.
Since she couldn't reach anyone now, Lu Jia couldn't just sit around doing nothing. Otherwise, she would keep thinking about bad things. So, to distract herself, she decided to tidy up the dormitory here.
Although it was just a simple sweep and mop, moving around did make her tired. After finishing tidying up, Lu Jia felt sore and achy in her back.
She supported her waist with one hand and moved some things onto the balcony. She left the mop temporarily, as it seemed to have some attacking power, considering there was nothing else in the dormitory.
She put the mop away and searched through the dormitory items.
Their dorm building had no restrictions on electricity, and occasionally they were too lazy to go downstairs to get food. So, the dormitory always had small pots, bowls, and utensils, but no knives. While the dorm had no restrictions on electricity, there were restrictions on sharp objects. Plus, most of the things they bought were already cut, so they didn't need a knife.
After searching carefully, they surprisingly found half a box of instant noodles, three bottles of cola, two bags of dumplings, one bag of tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), two packs of potato chips, three apples, and half a large bucket of purified water.
The princess in the dormitory paid special attention to disinfecting water, so her family provided the dormitory with a complete set of water filtration equipment. At first, everyone followed the rules and drank water from it, but later it became too troublesome, so they simply bought a water dispenser and drank directly from the bottle. It was much more convenient that way.
Lu Jia looked at all this and estimated that with only these supplies, she should be able to survive for a month without the dormitory being broken into by zombies.
A whole month, just the thought of it seemed long and difficult.
With that in mind, she snapped out of her previous busyness and her gaze fell on Su Mo. Su Mo was still standing in the same spot, maintaining the same posture, and staring at her intently.
Suddenly, Lu Jia felt that if she were the one turning into a monster, instead of Su Mo, Su Mo would probably handle it better than her.
Su Mo didn't understand the meaning behind the expression on the food in front of her, so she instinctively wanted to approach it. However, as soon as she took a step, she fell directly to the ground.
Hearing the sound, Lu Jia knew that the fall was not light, and it made her even more anxious.
She hurried forward and helped Su Mo up. It was only then that she noticed that Su Mo's left leg was swollen, as if the bone was dislocated at some point.
Holding onto Su Mo's hand, she guided her to the bedside and helped her sit down. But as soon as she stood up, Su Mo would inevitably stand up too. She had to press Su Mo back down again. Even though her leg was so injured, she still stood up.
With all that going back and forth, although Su Mo didn't feel any pain, Lu Jia still worried that her leg might break completely.
"Sit down," she said, her voice unintentionally getting louder, as she stared at Su Mo with wide eyes.
Su Mo stood there, fixated on the food in front of her. The food seemed tempting and said something, but Su Mo didn't understand what it meant.
Looking at Lu Jia, she blinked her eyes, unintentionally radiating an aura of helplessness. It made Lu Jia feel sorry for her and she couldn't bear it.
Lu Jia looked on, constantly reminding herself that the Su Mo in front of her was not the person she knew, but also not a zombie solely focused on eating people. Su Mo needed guidance, and she should be gentle.
Taking the initiative to sit beside Su Mo, this time she didn't even need to ask her to sit down, Su Mo obediently and willingly sat down.
Her action surprised Lu Jia. Could it be that Su Mo had been standing up all along because she wanted Lu Jia to sit down too?
It might be a bold assumption, but it didn't stop Lu Jia from feeling better. Looking at Su Mo's eyes, they couldn't help but soften.
Su Mo felt the food change next to her and thought, "Huh? Was it going to play with her? Why was the food not moving again?"
Lu Jia looked at Su Mo's leg, which was obviously swollen and injured. It had to be seen by a doctor, but even if there was a doctor now, they wouldn't, and maybe they couldn't dare to show Su Mo her leg.
But if they didn't look, it would still have some effect on Su Mo, even though it wouldn't be painful or deadly. It would still hinder her movements, and Lu Jia couldn't just watch Su Mo like this.
Her inner conflict and worries quickly infected Su Mo, who was supposed to have no emotions. Su Mo made some noises, as if she was concerned about Lu Jia.
Lu Jia looked at Su Mo, who seemed carefree and innocent, and smiled with a hint of bitterness, saying, "You caring about me like this, I can't just let it go."
Su Mo felt her stomach needing food. She made some noises. She wanted to eat, she wanted to eat.
Suddenly, her head was touched a few times by a hand. Lu Jia looked at her leg and realized there was no other choice but for her to take care of Su Mo. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of you."
Su Mo turned her head to look at the food, and thought, "Huh? Was there food similar to the food in front of her for her to eat?"
And in such a serious and solemn moment, Lu Jia's stomach made a very untimely noise.
"Cluck ~ Cluck ~"
Waking up in the early morning, Lu Jia encountered so many things and even did some cleaning, only then did she realize that she hadn't eaten anything yet.
So the promise she just made to take good care temporarily slipped her mind, and her hunger overcame everything smoothly.
Considering the storage time of apples, Lu Jia chose an apple first. She originally took two, but can zombies eat apples?
So she obediently put one of them back.
Walking halfway, she stopped for about two seconds, then turned back and picked up the apple she had put back.
