Chapter 77: Too Big
As Chu Jiang watched the figure walk away, he narrowed his eyes. This guy wasn't just waiting around, he had come to find an expert for something important.
So, what could Yan Wanli's visit to Expert Chen be related to?
Could it be connected to the previous conflict between both parties?
"Please come in."
A calm male voice could be heard from inside the office.
When Chu Jiang saw this, he didn't stay there any longer and walked into the office naturally.
As soon as he walked in, the first thing he saw was the adult man sitting behind the desk. He had his hands clasped on the table, wearing glasses and a white coat.
He had a calm appearance, deep and thoughtful eyes, and a dignified demeanor. But there was also a hint of sharpness.
"Please sit."
As the visitor entered, the door closed automatically. Without hesitation, Chu Jiang went and sat down.
Before he even said anything, Chu Jiang heard the sound of someone flipping through a newspaper.
This startled him, and he turned to look. That's when he noticed an ordinary-looking man sitting on a bench next to the door, reading a newspaper.
The man was wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt. He was so ordinary that you might not remember what he looked like when you turned your head away. At that moment, he didn't pay any attention to Chu Jiang, simply absorbed in reading the newspaper.
But the problem was, when Chu Jiang came in, he didn't see this person at all...
Maybe he saw it, but Chu Jiang instinctively ignored him. If it hadn't been for the sound of the person flipping the newspaper when his back was turned, Chu Jiang would have thought that there were only two people in this office.
"Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Chen Yehua. When I first saw your information, I was very interested. How did you manage to escape from Slender Man's Ghost Domain?"
Chen Yehua looked at Chu Jiang with curious eyes.
Chu Jiang came up with the name Slender Man, which later became the codename for the ghost involved in that A-class event.
Chu Jiang didn't expect that the first thing the other person said would be about this, but he remained calm and said, "With the help of a seal."
Chen Yehua nodded slightly, "I thought so. With the supernatural powers you've shown, it is unlikely that you could break through that level of Ghost Domain."
"In fact, I suspect that Slender Man might even be an S-class entity."
As Chen Yehua said this, he didn't show any worry or fear. His eyes even had a hint of excitement.
"Can I see that seal? Don't worry, you don't need to explain or let me touch it. I just want to take a look."
Actually, Chu Jiang suspects that the research institute already knows about the diary. It's not like they found out about it when entering the room, based on its size and shape, but they learned about it from someone who knew.
There were five people who escaped from the school: Cheng Jie, Liu Mingming, Gao Yifei, Zhang Haoran, and Chu Jiang.
The first three people could have told the truth to the police, but it probably wasn't on the day of the questioning, but rather in the many days that followed.
First of all, they are not criminals, so the police obviously wouldn't interrogate them like criminals.
But they are just ordinary students, sometimes all it takes is a few words or some benefits to easily make them reveal their secrets.
Among them, Chu Jiang thinks Liu Mingming is the most likely to tell the truth.
Of course, Chu Jiang never thought that this secret could be kept forever. When they were giving their statements, he already knew very well that the police could tell that a few young students were lying.
In this situation, all they need is a little time to find out the truth.
That's also why Chu Jiang just gave the answer directly earlier.
When Chen Yehua asked Chu Jiang, he thought for a moment and didn't say anything. He simply took off his backpack and put the diary with the pure black cover on the desk.
Chen Yehua kept his promise, even though he was filled with curiosity and a desire to study. He just looked at it, without touching it or asking Chu Jiang any questions.
About five minutes later, reluctantly, he took his gaze back. "It's okay. Without using instruments or other research methods, I can't see anything. I can only guess that this thing is not simple and can help people escape from the ghost's domain."
"By the way, the ghost on you comes from the diary, right?"
"Yes, it was a complete accident." Chu Jiang took the diary back.
Now Chu Jiang is completely certain that it was Liu Mingming or someone else who revealed the truth. Because his classmates have all seen the appearance of the Blood Handprint when it was still on the cover of the diary.
"It's normal. Most folk Ghost Masters come into being due to various accidents."
After saying that, Chen Yehua looked at Chu Jiang. "You can make a request to me, any request outside of the rules. Because even as an expert from the research institute, I have no right to ask any leader to show their seal."
"Since you agreed to my request, then I don't owe you anything."
"Of course, if your request is too outrageous, I will just refuse," Chen Yehua said with a smile.
This surprised Chu Jiang a bit, and he thought for a moment, "What does Yan Wanli want to find you for?"
"Simple, I'm sure you can guess it yourself. He's puzzled by his own situation and can only seek help from an expert like me."
Chen Yehua relaxed on the ergonomic chair, "Actually, I couldn't provide any insightful answers. The connection should be related to the ghost on you or the seal on you."
"To explain further, it's possible that it's a hierarchical suppression among ghosts of the same series."
"However, to make Yan Wanli's ghost corpse so obvious, your ghost must be quite special."
This basically aligns with Chu Jiang's speculation, as it seems that there is indeed some mechanism among ghosts of the same series.
"This request is too simple. I see you're carrying a backpack; is it because the diary is too large to carry around?"
Chu Jiang nodded.
Chen Yehua pointed at the table with his hand and said, "After you go back, you can try changing your seal."
"These ghostly things don't follow the laws of modern physics, so they can change their size to some extent."
"Of course, this seemingly simple thing is actually very difficult to achieve."
"Because most of us are using seals as an adventure, not as pets. And seals, most of the time, are trying to figure out how to kill the user and cannot communicate at all."
"If all else fails, you can go to the logistics department and have them make a portable backpack pendant for you. With your physical strength, carrying a diary shouldn't be difficult."
Chu Jiang was a bit speechless, carrying a diary every day on his back? It would be better to just use a backpack.
After thinking for a while, Chu Jiang gestured with his hand to indicate the size and muttered to himself, "If I could cut off a portion, I could fit it in my pocket."
Chen Yehua curiously asked, "How would you cut it? Do you need a knife? I have a regular knife and a seal-type knife."
